Now that the spring season has finally arrived, the local wildflowers are once again starting to bloom with their gorgeous colors. There is only one way to truly celebrate the return of this spectacular gift from nature… by attending the Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage in Gatlinburg! Time and Location Information

The 67th annual Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage event takes place from April 11-15, 2017, and is primarily held outside on the trails in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. All of the outdoor programs are held rain or shine, so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather! The indoor programs are held at the Mills Conference Center in Gatlinburg and at Sugarlands Training Room within the park. The various programs are available with morning, afternoon and evening time slots, so consult the official schedule to find out specific information.

The Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage in Gatlinburg is a popular event that offers nearly 150 programs over four days during the peak wildflower season in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The event consists of a wide variety of outdoor programs as well as a selection of indoor programs. These programs include everything from guided walks with professional guides to indoor talks that discuss the region’s cultural and natural resources. There are even night walks where you can join a search for owls under the moon or spot nocturnal insects using a black light! Some of the other available programs include such topics as natural journaling, bird photography and wildflower sketching. Most of the outdoor programs start at trailheads and other park locations where participants should schedule their own transportation. However, complimentary van service will be provided to those trailheads where parking is limited.

Registration and Fees

All of the Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage programs are covered under one registration fee, which cost only $50 for one day or $75 for two or more days. Note that students with an ID can register at the discounted price of $15 for one or more days, and children under 12 are always free when accompanied by a registered adult. You can submit your registration online until April 7, 2017, or register in person at the Mills Conference Center from April 11-15, 2017. The registration hours at the Mills Conference Center are Tuesday from 5PM to 9PM, Wednesday to Friday from 7AM to 7:30PM, and Saturday from 7AM to Noon. Specific programs can be selected during both online and in person registrations.
